Camping! Or, cabining.

Second weekend of August, we went camping. We hiked out to the Barber cabin, which is a place I have so many memories of as a kid. It's not a long hike, about 3 miles I think, and the trail is so easy that we actually pushed Jonas' big three-wheel stroller out. The day we went out it was POURING, and we were soaked by the time we got to the cabin! But once we were there we had a really good time. It was a little tough; Jonas had trouble napping in a strange place, and he ended up being feverish both nights and just not himself. Then, Sunday morning during breakfast he got really sick, all over himself and me and the cabin! Big bummer. We packed up and headed out pretty quick after that. Despite the fever and the puking and the many, many bug bites, I think he had a really good time!

Hard to argue with the view! There's a lake between the trees and the hill in the background.

This view is from a little down the trail.
Once we figured out how to block off the woodstove with some of the benches, Jonas had a great time exploring all over the cabin.

Mmmm, blueberries!

On Saturday we took a day hike around to see a waterfall a couple miles away. Jonas slept most of the way there.
Then he woke up and wanted to see around!

Here you can see some of the many (many) mosquito bites he got.

But all in all, a fun trip!
