Birthday Boy!

Of course I'm late in posting this, but August 23rd was Jonas' FIRST BIRTHDAY! Pretty incredible. Hard to believe it's been a year since I woke Nick up at 2:30 in the morning to tell him my water broke! I still remember the excitement of that day very clearly. Also, the relief that even though he was technically 5 weeks early, he was fully cooked and perfectly healthy. We thank God for that and for the wonderful little boy he is, every day. Our little miracle, the answer to our prayers, and what turned us from a couple into a family. :-) We look forward to meeting more like him someday, but for now we are thoroughly enjoying watching him grow!

We celebrated his birthday with some family and some friends, at the Discovery Cafe in Hope. Sitting in the sun on the deck was a pretty great way to spend the day. We had good food, and cake! I didn't have the time or equipment to give Jonas' monkey cake the attention it really needed, but it turned out okay anyway.
