Well, we're almost done with 29 full weeks. Can't believe we're almost in the 30s! We're getting pretty excited/impatient . . . we have our second appointment this week with the midwives in Anchorage. It'll be neat to meet another one. There are three, and we'll meet with each of them at least twice. It's too bad we have to drive all the way to Anchorage for such a quick checkup, but that's what happens when you live in Seward I guess. We could have put it off a little longer by staying with the original hospital plan, but that's okay. This will end up being better, I think.
We had a really great 4th of July. Lots of friends and family hanging around, beautiful warm (hot!) weather, fun times. Nick and our friend Andy and my uncle Jay started tinkering around with some old treasures, and built a go-cart! It provided endless entertainment, and some near-miss injuries as well! Unfortunately we didn't get a picture of it with the engineers.
Seward has been having an incredible run of weather. It's been in the 70s for a week, and hit 80 a couple times! That may not sound like much for some people, but around here it's pretty astronomical. My office at work has huge picture windows, and holy moly it gets hot and stuffy in there! But we're trying to make an effort to enjoy it, because it's definitely a rare occasion. Today I planted a raspberry bush and a couple rose bushes in our yard - I hope they do well! I'm going to have to remember to water them if this heat wave keeps up, but it sure would be exciting to have some berries and roses in the yard. Add a little aesthetic quality to an otherwise boring yard. :-)
Alright, that's all I've got. If I get up enough energy I'll go out and take a picture of my new plants and add them on here . . . right now I don't think I can get off the couch!
