October

At what point should I give up trying to catch up? It seems like every time I post, I start off by apologizing for how far behind I am! Needless to say, much has happened since we got back from Washington at the end of September.Jonas learned to walk the week we got back. I think he got some incentive at daycare, because it's a lot harder to keep up with the other kids if you are crawling! My folks were gone for over a month after we got back from vacation, so we took him to a small in-home day care for a while. It took him a little while to get used to it, but he sure likes playing with the other kids.

Unfortunately his immune system took a little time getting used to it too. On Friday of the first week in day care, we had an appointment in Anchorage to get his giant head looked at. (Don't worry, it's fine, they just wanted to make sure it was growing normally) By the time we got there, though, he was struggling for breathe and virtually unresponsive! The doctor at the clinic plopped us in an ambulance and we ended up staying at the hospital for a couple of days. Very very scary to watch your child turning blue and fighting to breathe.

He was allowed to go home on Sunday, but he had to have nebulizer treatments for a few more days, and stay home from day care for the next week. Then the next week he ended up with a case of pinkeye! He recovered quickly though, and hasn't been sick much since then.

Halloween was fun. I made Jonas a tiny lederhosen costume, and he got a big kick out of the local carnival.

Trip to Washington 5

Heading home! Probably picked up some awesome germs from this airport floor, but at least he had a good time.

Trip to Washington 4

After we left Leavenwort, we drove across the rest of Washington State, through Idaho, and to Missoula Montana to visit an old friend of mine. We stopped at a park in Coeur d'Alene to take a break from driving and give the boy a chance to stretch his legs.

Trip to Washington 3

Jonas wasn't quite walking yet. He loved to walk as long as you were holding his hand, but wasn't quite ready to let go yet.

OUCH! What a funny game!

Trip to Washington 2

Traveling really wiped the little guy out! Every day was something new to see, and naps were hard to fit in. Luckily, Jonas is flexible, and willing to sleep anywhere!

Leavenworth is a little Bavarian town in central Washington, where Nick and I used to spend weekends. Jonas liked it too!

Trip to Washington 1

Mid September we took a trip down to Washington to go to my college roommate's wedding. We had such a good time! Jonas was a fantastic traveler. It was his first time on an airplane, and he was awesome.
He had a little crib at each hotel we stayed in, and got a big kick out of it.
We went to Pike Place market in Seattle, and then down to Tacoma to revisit Nick's old college stomping grounds.
We visited with Jonas' Grammy, and had a great time hanging out at the Zoo!

Random September

Yeah, yeah, I'm behind. Are you shocked? Here are some random shots from September; Jonas and I spent an afternoon at the playground!

That's my boy, with the attitude!
